Entrap compared with Dormant

This rule is part of the Comprehensive Rules, where every cross-reference resolves in one page.

Question
Both make a unit untouchable. What is different?
Answer
Dormant also switches off the unit's own passives. Entrap does not.
  1. 900.18aEntrap blocks effects received by the unit and pauses its activation for 3 seconds. Its auras, Consecrate, and other source-side passives keep projecting.
  2. 900.18bDormant blocks all of that and additionally suppresses everything the unit projects, and the unit does not contest the combat.
  3. 900.18cBoth preserve charge progress and both let existing timed effects, damage over time, and heal over time continue running.
  4. 900.18dRelentless does not block Entrap, because Entrap is classified as a removal effect rather than a debuff.
  5. 900.18eClear-status effects still resolve against a Dormant unit; nothing else does.
  6. 900.18fA card may declare a per-tier Entrap duration ladder, which overrides the applied duration on that unit.
