Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Gridforged website at gridforged.com, the Gridforged game client on supported platforms, and any related online services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Gridforged ("Gridforged", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter these Terms.

2. Accounts and sign-in

• You sign in using a third-party identity provider — Google, Apple, or Steam. You are responsible for keeping that provider account secure.
• One Gridforged profile can have multiple providers linked to it. Linking is consent that those provider identities belong to the same human.
• You may not impersonate another person, use someone else's provider account, or attempt to acquire credentials that are not yours.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice where the violation is serious (cheating, abuse, illegal use).

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Cheat, exploit bugs for advantage, use bots or automation, or otherwise manipulate matchmaking, MMR, or the leaderboard.
• Harass, threaten, dox, or impersonate other players.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the Service except as expressly permitted by law.
• Attempt to break, probe, or overload the Service, its infrastructure, or its sign-in providers.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.

4. User content

Anything you submit through the Service — usernames, messages, or other content ("User Content") — remains yours. You grant Gridforged a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that User Content as needed to operate the Service (e.g., showing your username on the leaderboard). You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that your User Content does not violate any law or third-party right.

5. Gridforged intellectual property

The Gridforged name, logo, game design, code, art, audio, units, runes, bosses, and codex text are owned by Gridforged or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you. You may stream, screenshot, and create non-commercial fan content about Gridforged gameplay; for any commercial use, contact us first.

6. Third-party services

The Service uses Google Firebase Authentication and Google Cloud Platform to broker sign-in and host data, and may use Steam and Apple sign-in. Your use of those providers is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers beyond our integration with them.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Changes to the Service

Gridforged is under active development. We may change, add, remove, or stop features at any time without notice. We may also revise these Terms; material changes will be announced on the site and the "Last updated" date will be bumped. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account per the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gridforged and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service will not exceed USD $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gridforged from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
