Initiative and its repeats

This rule is part of the Comprehensive Rules, where every cross-reference resolves in one page.

Question
How does an Initiative repeat differ from the original?
Answer
It resolves the same effects again immediately, with fresh random rolls.
  1. 900.31aInitiative gates on the unit's first activation each battle, tracked per unit per ability.
  2. 900.31bAn adjacent ally that grants Initiative repeats causes the Initiative effects to resolve again, once per granted repeat, immediately after the first pass and before the base hit.
  3. 900.31cEach repeat rolls its own random outcomes, so repeated Focus-weighted picks can select different units. Repeats are not copies of the first outcome.
  4. 900.31dAn effect that pushes an ally's Initiative early resolves on that ally, using the ally's own target and stats, and the ally's accumulated bonus damage is dealt to its own target.
  5. 900.31eInitiative is its own gate and does not consume the separate nth-activation counter used by other cards.
