Overtime and the 120-second cap
This rule is part of the Comprehensive Rules, where every cross-reference resolves in one page.
- Question
- What ends a stalled combat?
- Answer
- Escalating overtime damage from 60 seconds, and a hard cap at 120.
- 900.42aFrom 60 seconds onward every combatant takes overtime damage once per second. Tools and Hubs are the only units excluded.
- 900.42bThe amount grows with the square of the seconds past the threshold: N seconds past 60 deals N x N.
- 900.42cAt 70 seconds that is 100 per second. At 80 seconds it is 400. Nothing survives long past the threshold.
- 900.42dThe combat is hard-capped at 120 seconds regardless.
- 900.42eOvertime damage is not amplified by Prismbreak and is not a status. It is plain damage through the normal pipeline, so Armor reduces it and Insurance charges and Shield absorb individual ticks, spending those points with their full consequences. Nothing retaliates against it: the match clock is not an attacker, so Thorns, Riposte, and Subrogated Insurance all stay silent.
