Shield against Burn and Venom

- Burn and Venom ignore Armor. Do they also ignore Shield?
- Answer
- No. Shield absorbs them in full.
- 900.11aIgnoring Armor and ignoring Shield are separate flags in the mitigation pipeline. Burn and Venom set the first and not the second.
- 900.11bA tick fully absorbed by Shield deals no Vitality damage, so it produces no Feast for whoever applied the status and does not advance effects that read Vitality damage.
- 900.11cThe tick still counts as a damage instance, so Insurance still meets it — and Insurance is spent before Shield, so an insured unit burns a whole point on a tick it would have shielded anyway.
- 900.11dForge Core tick reduction and rune tick reduction are applied before the pipeline, so they shrink the tick before Shield sees it.
